In celebration of Malia Obama's upcoming 12th birthday, First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia headed to the theater!

In this exclusive photo, Mrs. Obama was snapped Thursday night backstage at the first showing of Disney's hit Broadway musical Mary Poppins in Washington D.C., held at The Kennedy Center.

Also on hand were friends of the first daughters, who celebrated Malia's upcoming July 4 birthday. Malia was treated to an impromptu "Happy Birthday" when visiting the cast backstage, and actress Caroline Sheen (Mary) received a warm hug from Mrs. Obama.
