Kirstie Alley Defends Weight Loss Line Amid Questions of a Scientology Link

Kirstie Alley is defending her new weight loss line one day after "The Today Show" ran a segment that suggested her new diet program is connected to the Church of Scientology -- of which Kirstie is a member.

Kirstie spoke about her company Organic Liason on Wednesday, saying, "That I would need to clarify or defend the intentions or affiliations of my LLC business corporation in the year 2010 is indicative of the intolerances that we as a country still need to overcome."

She went on to say, "However, after 'The Today Show' brought fringe bigotry and intolerance into the forefront of national media, I feel compelled to clarify two issues.
