Paula Abdul and Celebs Resolve to ‘Do Something,’ Send Positive Messages to Lindsay Lohan

It's more than midway through the year, but celebrities used the 2010 Do Something Awards as a time to reflect on resolutions of the present and future. The annual awards presentation helped to usher in a new year of philanthropy in Hollywood and amongst young adults making a difference on the global scale. Some stars wished Lindsay Lohan a prosperous life after her completing her jail sentence.

Actress Holly Robinson Peete competed on the latest edition of "The Celebrity Apprentice," representing her HollyRod Foundation "to help families affected by autism." Quoting child advocate Marian Wright Edelman, she said, "I believe that service is a rent you pay for living."

Paula Abdul and the gala's host, "Glee"'s Jane Lynch, praised recipient Jessica Posner for her groundbreaking work in Kibera, Africa. The 23-year-old established a community center and school in the poverty stricken city, giving women and girls the opportunity to receive an education and avoid the traumatizing sex trade.
