Roman Polanski’s Lawyers File Appeal, Seek Investigation into Judicial Misconduct

Lawyers for Roman Polanski have reportedly filed an appeal related to a 32-year-old sex case.

The Associated Press reports that Polanski's lawyers filed an appeal on Thursday in Los Angeles and are seeking special counsel investigation into alleged judicial misconduct.  The filing cites evidence that the lawyers claim indicates that the prosecutor knew of judicial misconduct stemming back to the 1970s.

The attorneys say that Deputy District Attorney Roger Gunson secretly testified this year about the judge's conduct in the case. Polanski's legal team wants the transcripts of his alleged testimony to be unsealed. Polanski's legal team is also asking for him to be sentenced in absentia (from afar).
