A Los Angeles Elementary School Has Their ‘Day Made Better’ by the Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers surprised the students of Los Feliz Arts Charter School on Tuesday, promoting a new campaign. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the boy band appeared on stage in front of hundreds of stunned boys and girls during their first assembly at the school's new facility that opened just last week. The Jonas Brothers presented the school with $25,000 worth of school supplies as a part of OfficeMax's "A Day Made Better" campaign THR reports.

‘The Situation”s iPhone App is a ‘Shore’ Thing

"Jersey Shore"'s Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has taken his "GTL" prowess to a new mobile app that's already made it to the list of Top 10 highest grossing Apple applications since its release last Thursday. "It's done extremely well, and we believe it will continue to do so," Apple's Adam Matuzich told The Hollywood Reporter. According to THR, a rep for Apple said the application, available for $4.99, soared to the top ten list and gives users access to locate "GTL" (Gym, Tan, Laundry) facilities, offers a workout routine aimed to get beach-worthy abs and has a "grenade" dodging video game. The features are directly inspired by phrases and experiences made famous by The Situation and the cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore." Users can also email the "Dancing with the Stars" contestant directly via the app.

Paris Hilton can't run away from her problems. ET confirms the heiress is being detained in Tokyo, Japan, after she plead guilty in Nevada on Monday to two misdemeanors including a drug charge. Paris, 29, was stopped by immigration officials at Tokyo's Narita airport following her arrival into the country on a business trip. The socialite tweeted earlier that day, writing: "On my way to my Asia to debut my Fall/Winter Collections. So excited to see all my fans. First stop - Tokyo." She also linked to a story detailing her Asian tour that would unveil her upcoming clothing collection. Due to Paris' recent drug charges and sentence, authorities in Japan were considering refusing her entry into the country, People.com reports. Songwriter and philanthropist Denise Rich talked to ET about Michael Douglas and his battle with cancer. "I do know Michael and I wish him well," she said. "I think he's an incredible human being and so is Catherine [Zeta-Jones]. What can I say? He's an incredible human being and a great actor. I know he's going to be fine." Denise is co-founder of Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, which was established after her daughter died of leukemia.
