Court Denies Polanski Victim’s Dismissal Appeal

A dismissal motion, filed by the victim in a decades-long sex case involving Roman Polanski, has reportedly been denied.

The Associated Press reports that a California appeals court denied the petition Thursday, after Samantha Geimer tried to dismiss the criminal case against the film director.

In March, attorneys for Polanski filed an appeal and were seeking investigation into alleged judicial misconduct in the case. The attorneys also asked that Polanski be sentenced in absentia. Last January, a judge ordered Polanski's return to the U.S., rejecting his previous bid to be sentenced while serving house arrest in Switzerland.
