Dick Van Dyke’s Magical Return to ‘Mary Poppins’

Dick Van Dyke has dazzled audiences for decades with his breakout performance in Disney's 1964 classic, 'Mary Poppins,' and ET was exclusively with the star Friday night in L.A. before he took the stage in Broadway's award-winning rendition of the enchanting tale.

Famed for playing the singing, dancing chimney sweep Bert alongside Julie Andrews' magical nanny in the big-screen masterpiece, Dick actually pulled double duty in the film, also donning heavy makeup to play crabby bank director Mr. Dawes Senior.

The 84-year-old entertainer shared his excitement with ET about reprising the latter role on stage at the Ahmanson Theatre on Friday night.
