Former John Edwards Aide: He Asked Me To Steal Diaper for DNA Test

In the wake of John Edwards' public confession that he is indeed the biological father of nearly two-year-old Frances Quinn Hunter, a former aide dismisses the action as "empty words" -- and claims that the former presidential candidate asked him to steal a soiled diaper for a DNA test.

In an interview airing on ABC's "20/20" on Friday, January 29, former Edwards aide Andrew Young says of the public confession, "If that is what he wanted to say, he should have said it two years ago. And there has been plenty of time...Now I think it's just a PR campaign."

Edwards, who is currently in Haiti with actor Sean Penn, made his confession today allegedly because the arrangements for child support were just finalized, according to family friend and lawyer Harrison Hickman.
