Judge Makes Ruling on Michael Jackson Memorabilia Deal

A Los Angeles judge made a ruling Friday about a proposed memorabilia deal that the late King of Pop's mother, Katherine Jackson, had objected to. Read on to find out how the judge ruled…

The Associated Press reports that Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff has approved a deal between Michael Jackson's estate and concert promoter AEG Live to move forward with an exhibit of the late star's memorabilia. Attorneys for Jackson's mother had opposed the deal, arguing that the estate should earn more than an even 50-50 split of profits from the deal, among other concerns.

The approved deal will consist of a three-city exhibition that is expected to open around the time of the "This Is It" film release on Oct. 28, which will be a documentary of Jackson's rehearsal footage. The exhibit is expected to earn up to $6 million for the Jackson estate, according to the AP.
