Secret Tape Played for Jurors at Travolta Extortion Trial

Footage from a hidden-camera was reportedly shown before the jury in a Bahamas courtroom on Monday in the case involving an alleged extortion attempt against John Travolta.

The tape reportedly shows politician and lawyer Pleasant Bridgewater speaking with Travolta's attorney and requesting $20 million be given to the paramedic, Tarino Lightbourne, who treated the actor's son, Jett, on the day of his death, according to the Associated Press.

The tape was reportedly recorded when Bahamas police set up hidden cameras in a hotel room where Bridgewater met with Travolta's lawyer, Michael McDermott, reports the AP. At one point during the taped encounter, Bridgewater reportedly calls Lightbourne on a cell phone to notify him that Travolta's attorney is prepared to offer $250,000. She then relays the message from Lightbourne, who allegedly said, "My mortgage is more than that."
