Super Bowl Shatters ‘M*A*S*H’ Record for Most-Watched Program

Football fans trumped the finale of "M*A*S*H," making Super Bowl XLIV the most-watched program in television history.

More than 106 million people are estimated to have tuned in to watch the New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Up until now, the 1983 "M*A*S*H" finale held the record with 105.97 viewers, the Nielson Company reported to the Associated Press.

Super Bowl viewership took a big jump from last year's game that had an estimated audience of 98.7 million.
