Tiger Woods: This Situation is my Fault … I’m Not Perfect

After canceling several meetings with state troopers, Tiger Woods broke his silence on Sunday with a statement posted to his Web site regarding the early morning car crash on Friday that left his vehicle stuck in a tree.

"As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore," the pro golfer begins his statement. "This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again."

According to the accident report, the acclaimed golfer had just pulled out of his driveway in his Cadillac SUV when his car struck a fire hydrant, leaving the front of his vehicle stuck in a tree. Windermere police chief Daniel Saylor told the Associated Press that Woods' wife, supermodel Elin, told officers that she heard the accident from inside their house and broke the back window of the vehicle with a golf club.
